MEET THE FOUNDER

KERRI KUZBYT

Unbounded Athletes evolved from a point in my life that made me recognize “I am not the player I could be, I actually suck.” Yes, these were the exact words I said to myself after walking out of a training session with a coach who would then become my Player Development Coach; someone who introduced me to training the game both physically and mentally like never before. From that point on not only did my playing career change, I changed who I was as a person, and who I continue to become and grow as a Player Development Coach.

As much as it was scary to admit I was nowhere near the player I could be, it was just as exciting to know the limitless possibilities that now presented themselves. Now I had a choice, be ok with just being good, never knowing the player I could have been, and just ok with attempting but not having complete success professionally in Australia and Spain. Or I could completely reinvent myself and commit to learning and playing the game as if it was my first time touching a ball; and most days moving and playing felt just like that. I took the ladder, and because of the investment I chose to make in myself, I received the greatest return possible; I became the player I never imagined I could be. This resulted in not only playing, but dominating my final two years professionally in Germany’s Second Bundesliga. Experiencing this level of success, the type of player I was able to grow and become, and the confidence that finally transferred from training into the game, was all because I committed to changing how I approached training. This is why I am determined to provide younger generations this same approach but allowing them more time than I ever got with it.

All that I learned as a player, but especially in those final two years of playing professionally has brought me to where I am today; becoming a Player Development Coach dedicated to eliminating the gap between the male and female game all over the globe. It is my mission to continue to seek growth in understanding and mastering a wide range of approaches, methods, and techniques as I begin to create my own philosophies. The opportunities I have had and continue to have in learning from some of the best in the world has brought me more knowledge and understanding with how I want to put an unforgettable mark on the female game. I want to create a movement in the female game where we now expose and make known the talent that is there. I want to expose the female game to the deeper psychological approaches such as discovery, and problem solving techniques while pairing them with more purposeful and efficient movement patterns necessary for optimal performance; all the things the female game naturally lacks. I know this style of training and its unique methods works first hand. I am excited to continue building my knowledge in these methods and approaches when it comes to reinventing the way the female game is played and seen.
